Tabu Tabu jasper cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of tabu tabu, also sometimes called 'smoke and embers' jasper, or forest fire jasper, from Africa. It has a brecciated pattern similar to Stone Canyon jasper, only in bright crimson red with patches of gray, white, rusty tan, contrasting strongly against charcoal black. There are also a few flecks of shiny silvery metal, oddly enough. It's easy to see how this jasper got its name; the warm hues are indeed much like the hot glowing embers of a fire. Awesome!! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm and a long designer drop shape, polished both front and back.
