Stone Canyon jasper ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of Stone Canyon jasper, from California. It is fine example of brecciated stone, which means the original ochre-yellow jasper was once broken apart by some powerful earth movement, and then naturally re-cemented with contrasting burgundy-red and clear agate, with spots of lavender. The agate has some translucency in those infilled areas, for an added dimension of depth. The stone has a low rounded dome of 4mm, a gracefully fluid designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
