Rainforest jasper cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of Australia's rainforest 'jasper'. It features a rather festive pattern that stands out nicely against a backdrop of rusty orange. There are several embedded thundereggs, or ringed bullseyes, showing cores of yellow to orange opalite. The one blue agate pool has some subtle tubes as well as some tiny dots. This beautiful material is actually highly silicated rhyolite, reminiscent of an Aussie version of ocean jasper, in shades of light and dark avocado. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
