Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a GORGEOUS cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with orange, red, and yellow agate, and each is framed with a lattice-like network of nearly black webbing. Those are the actual cell walls, and they're quite distinct here. Nearly all of the cells are fortified around their edges with subtle bands, like tiny translucent agate nodules or thundereggs. This is an example of top notch collectible gem bone, straight from my own personal stash. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, brightly polished both front and back.
