Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A treasured favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, classic old material has become quite collectible and pricey these days, when one can find any to buy. This scenic example features a detailed hilly pattern in richly contrasting earth tones of tans and reddish browns. The earthy colors look terrific in a setting of silver, though gold makes for a nice contrast as well; the choice is yours! The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of 4mm, a designer 'trillion' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
