Variscite cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of spiderwebbed variscite, from Australia. This is a remarkable example of the exciting material from the new dig, about 100 miles from the previous source. Rather spendy per pound, but worth it, I think. It features cool pastel greens that remind me of pistachio ice cream (my favorite), with deeper minty green cores. There's also plenty of contrasting brown spiderwebbing, adding greatly to the stone's character and value. It's one gorgeous stone! The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a sweet designer 'flame' shape, and a surprisingly nice polish both front and back.
