Rainforest jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Australia's rainforest 'jasper'. This material is actually a highly silicated rhyolite, easily hard enough so that it finishes quite nicely. This example features an attractive orbed pattern in avocado and orange shades, with several thundereggs embedded within. Some are filled translucent bluish agate. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6+mm, a curvy designer 'flame' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back. However, there is an odd natural void on the backside, which is not visible at all from the front or sides.
