Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of Pilbara jasper, from Australia, hand selected at this year's Tucson shows. The miner said they won't be allowed to dig this material next year, which is too bad because it cuts terrific stones, loaded with character. This example has the typical black background, with red, yellows and orange streaks that stand out nicely. Looks to be some mossy figure too. The artfully streaked road map pattern really catches the eye, and I think you'll do great things with it. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a crisp designer shape, polished both front and back.
