butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Mexico's butterfly wing jasper, cut by my son Chris. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (technically a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and none too easy to come by these days, in any quality. This old stock material includes a near-rainbow of colors, as well as interesting veining. Those veins are naturally healed with a filling of dark magenta agate and are simply part of the stone's unique pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it won't disappoint! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
