Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an attractive pattern of partial orbs, one in front of the other, in rich shades of creamy peach, against a burnt orange to brown body. There's just a wee hint of translucency present in the darker areas. Sadly, the best of this hard porcelain-like jasper is becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days. It takes an outrageously glassy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a bold, crisp designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
