Mexican lace agate cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of Mexican crazy lace agate. This classic old stock material is great fun to work with; you never know what marvelous patterns will be revealed by slicing the rough. This particular example has beautiful fortification banding that frames several bullseyes, with tiny bursts of sagenitic plumes at one side, very ornate and intriguing. I'd have to say this gemmy, translucent stone is nicer than these photos show, and reminds me of the fancy lace of wedding gowns. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a graceful designer shape that's very versatile, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
