Variscite cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of extra gemmy variscite, from Utah. This is an example of fine old stock material that's become very scarce these days. It features gorgeous green 'globes' of various sizes in a light creamy tan matrix, giving this stone the classic spiderweb pattern. The green areas are at least partially translucent, moreso than the backlit photo illustrates. I think the rich green color of the variscite is something a computer monitor cannot do proper justice to, really, but the pics give you the idea; it's a beauty! The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer spearhead shape, and it is polished both front and back.
