Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare petrified palm wood, from Louisiana. This ancient fossil material is a joy to work with, showing none of the typical pits and fractures petrified wood so often has. The once-living palm's speckled pattern is quite apparent here, loaded with tiny finger-like tubes that show up nicely in a gemmy background of translucent root beer brown agate. No pet wood collection is complete without any example of palm wood, and this one's a delight. The cab has a rounded teardrop shape, a low rounded dome of 3.5mm, and it is polished both front and back.
