Morgan Hill poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of top quality poppy jasper, from the famous Morgan Hill, CA. location, no longer open to collecting. This eye-catching example features an outstanding pattern of contrasting bullseye figures in muted yellow, and bright crimson, in a partially transulcent background that is a mix of gray quartz and agate. It does have a couple of the typical hairlines common to this collectible material, but each is well healed and fine, so the stone is quite solid. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, and a designer 'flame' shape, polished both front and back.
