Regency rose plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a large deluxe cabochon of regency rose plume agate, from the famous digs in eastern Oregon. This wonderfully patterned stone was cut from grand old stock I've been hording for many years, and as you can see, this example has plenty of ornate plumage. You know, I love the old material! It's so much more colorful than the newer stuff. This one has lots of orange and gold, with pastel pink and cream. The frilly tendrils stand out beautifully in a subtly smoky agate background, with a delightful depth that these flat photos fall short of capturing. Some of the plumes have darker edges that contrast attractively, and there are a couple of tiny almost-drusy pockets as well as a core of white opalite. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
