Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is an attractive cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (technically a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This stone is a delightful example of grand old material, with a near rainbow of wildly varied figure, including an intriguing patch of smoky agate with some crackleur. The agate is quite translucent. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a low rounded dome of 5mm, a sweet designer 'flame' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
