Blue Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millenia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with gorgeous blue agate, including some shaded with yellow, and even some rosy pink spots. A few cells are fortified, just like tiny agate thundereggs. Check out the enlarged photos to see the fascinating details. The jet black cell walls form a sponge-like lattice, forever frozen in time. It's an amazing example of collectibly gemmy BLUE dinosaur bone! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a bold designer 'spear' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
