Green picasso jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of green Picasso jasper. This artistic material is quite different from, and a lot harder than, the more familiar type found in Utah, and unfortunately, I don't recall where it hails from. Instead of warmer oranges and golds, it has cool green streaks against a background of smoky charcoal with brownish undertones. This example also has patches of olive green, and those areas contain flecks of shiny metallic pyrite, though the camera's eye did not capture that well. The stone has a well rounded dome of nearly 6mm, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, and it is nicely polished both front and back.
