Cherry Creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of new material called Cherry Creek jasper, which hails from China. I'm told only a relatively small quantity was brought to the U.S., so I feel lucky to have snagged a small assortment of the very prettiest slabs available. This is only the third cab I've cut from this stuff, and it looks like a winner to me. The background is a golden pastel color with darker webbing, but what catches the eye are the bright red blotches. It's very artistic stuff, to say the least, and I think it'll make an outstanding item of jewelry. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
