Offered here is a cabochon of Royal Sahara jasper, which hails from the North African Sahara desert. This example has an
amazing pattern of ribbons and streamers of rich rusty browns, golden wheat, with some undertones of olive and even slate
blue-gray. Royal Sahara jasper has an abundance of remarkable qualities; whether you're a collector or a jewelry designer,
try it and you'll see, this stuff is magical. This stone has a high rounded dome of 7.5mm, and a plump designer 'leaf' shape
that contains the remarkable pattern wonderfully well. Like all the more familiar porcelain jaspers, RSJ is very hard, so I
was able to polish both front and back to a brilliant glassy shine.
