Bloodstone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, from India. This classic material remains a favorite, treasured by many for its contrasting blood red spots, which are said to be symbolic of the blood of Christ. The splotches in this example are bright blood red, contrasting nicely against deep rich greens. There are also some super tiny dots of lime green as well. My personal preferences for bloodstones like this is a silver setting, but please feel free to follow your own capable imagination. -smile- The stone has a high rounded dome of 7.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a glassy finish both front and back.
