Offered here is a cabochon of rare pigeon blood agate, also known as cornelian, from Utah. This gemmy beauty is a well
marked treasure, loaded with crimson dots, mosses and clouds in a partially translucent agate background. The
agate's color is highly saturated, with oodles of mossy blooms, while more than half the stone is translucent, as shown in the backlit photo; please click to enlarge the pics to full size to view the gemmy details. The stone has a rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'paisley' shape, and a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
