Variscite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb variscite, from Australia. This is a lovely example of fine new material that's been recently mined Down Under. It features cool greens that remind me of pistachio ice cream (my favorite), with windows of deeper minty green. There's also some contrasting spiderwebbing in tan, which did not undercut at all. In fact, I was astounded by the slick glassy finish this stone accepted; it's a real beauty! The cab has a high and well rounded dome of 6mm, a crisp designer shape, and it is polished both front and back.
