Imperial cab ~
Offered here is a large, deluxe cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This cab was cut from grand old material, part of an old stash of porcelain jasper I've been hoarding. And if I didn't know better, I'd think it was Willow Creek jasper. It has a very artistic snaky "S" pattern of streamers in light and dark shades of muted blues and greens, with pastel yellow at one side, and pastel blue at the other. There's also an oval 'eye' with subtle banding surrounding it, and some peppery dendrites. It's an awesome beauty, in its own quiet way. The stone has a high rounded dome of nearly 7+mm, a boldly crisp designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
