Petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a matching trio of petrified wood, classic old stock material from Hollbrook, Arizona. The intriguing patterning in theses stones is due to the agate replacement of the once living wood, and the grain is still apparent. I'm fairly sure the species is Auricaria. These striking examples are a lovely crimson red, with black and tan figure. There are a few very minor hairlines present, typical of this ancient fossil material, as well as a scattering of tiny micro-pits, but the stones are quite sound nonetheless. And truly gorgeous! The large cab has a low rounded dome of 4mm, while the smaller pair are 3-3.5mm in thickness. Each has a sweet designer 'flame' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
