Carnelian agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of fiery Oregon carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony. It features juicy translucent orange and crimson coloration, with a nice display of the internal 'cornflakes' so sought after by collectors. I did what I could to capture the beautiful 'flakes inside this stone, but the intense color just washes them out. The backlit picture reveals them fairly well, so please be sure to click it up to full size. I think this stone is MUCH nicer than these photos show, and believe me, carnelian with these beautiful colors is none too easy to come by these days! The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved designer shape, and an excellent glassy polish, slick as can be, both front and back.
