Dryhead agate ~
Offered here is a dandy cabochon of collectible Dryhead agate, from Montana. The first thing you notice about this example is the sparkly drusy pocket with an unusual orange bullseye set within it. It is framed with intricate fortification banding in shades of orange and creamy orange chiffon, as are three other crystalline areas. Those, in turn, are edged with a blue-white agate, surrounded by brownish matrix. The pinkish areas of the background have a somewhat satiny finish, typical of these agates; I don't feel that detracts from the beauty or value in any way. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a smooth designer shape, polished both front and back.
