Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a colorful cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulous material has a wonderfully striking color combination, and it is 100% natural. Select rough rock is on the spendy side, but I think the brilliant cabs it yields definitely make it worthwhile. This example has a fabulous pattern of blood red to orange-red cuprite and jet black (tenorite?) contrasting strongly against green to blue-green chrysocolla. This one has a few splashes of olive green too, and most of the bright red areas are edged with black, making them stand out even more. It's truly amazing stuff with plenty of designer potential, and I think you'll do great things with it, in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, and a surprisingly glossy polish both front and back.
