Description
~ Graveyard plume agate cab ~

Offered here is an interesting cabochon of Graveyard Point plume agate, from eastern Oregon. This example has a curving 'arm' of carnelian orange plumes, heavily shaded with glittery metallic marcasite. It stands out nicely in a background of translucent golden butterscotch agate with velvety swirls of cream. Toward the large end, there is a lighter crystalline area framing a sparkling drusy pocket, edged with some subtle tubes and fortification banding. Many of the crystals have good, crisp terminations too, even though they don't show well in my photos. This fine plume agate will be a joy to work with, no matter how simple or ornate the setting! The cab has a low but rounded dome of 5mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.

Size: 57x23mm
Weight: approximately 44 carats
