Inferno agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of top shelf inferno agate, a brand new Mexican arrival fresh from last month's Tucson shows. This example, cabbed from the very first nodule I sliced up, has an outrageously wild display of flame-like plumes in a very appropriate shades of crimson. There are also mossy plumes in a deeper red, and finger-like tendrils with a bit more pinkish blush, and some tiny fortifications too. The background agate is nicely translucent, butterscotch yellow in color. It's absolutely gorgeous stuff! And already I'm wishing for more. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a designer 'drop' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
