Woodward Ranch plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a delightful cabochon of Woodward Ranch plume agate, from Texas. This distinctive old stock material is sought after by collectors the world over, though there's little to none available these days. This example features wispy, almost ghostly, plumes of crimson edged with a layer of clear agate, in a background of very delicate pastel of lemony-peach chiffon. There's a beautiful sparkling crystalline patch that arches above a moon-like crescent partially submerged beneath the surface, some neat fortification banding, and more sparkle in the patch of crushed ice at the side. The entire stone is very gemmy and warmly translucent, as shown by the backlit photo. It is truly a thing of beauty!! The stone has a smoothly rounded dome of 5mm, an ovoid shape, and it is polished both front and back.
