Willow Creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Willow Creek jasper, from Idaho. Affectionately dubbed the Queen of jaspers, this hard porcelain material is a classic, and a long time favorite in my studio. This example is on the plainer side, but will have some appeal to pink lovers, for obvious reasons. The small slice this was cut from sat on my bench for so long, I forgot what it was, and mistakenly thought it was pink opal. But the hardness and exceptional polish gave it away once I cut it. The cab has a long designer 'spear' shape, a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
