Imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This classic old material is a long time favorite in my studio, a member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. This example has a broad strip of pastel avocado edged with darker minty green ribbons, surrounded with an even lighter pastel that's nearly white to ivory. Very appealing, to say the least. The stone has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
