Offered here is a HUGE cabochon of top notch African pietersite. This long, graceful stone is a magnificent example of the best in pietersite, with a fascinating harlequin pattern of patches in chatoyant golds with hints of frosty light blues to blue greens. It shimmers and dances with the light, and just as one patch winks off, another fires to life as the stone is turned. It is shot through with reddish orange threads that accentuate the amazing palette of this stone, and also contains an unusual ring of red agate with a crystalline core. And if one considers how the cost of pietersite has sky-rocketed just in the last decade, my per carat price for a stone of this size and calibre is a genuine bargain!
