Woodward ranch plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous cabochon of Woodward Ranch moss/plume, from Texas. This distinctive old stock material is a longtime favorite for its wonderful translucence and colorful figure. Sure cuts an fascinating cab, I must say. This one has bunches of delicate mossy plumes, edged with clear agate, in the most desireable crimson red colors. There's a beautiful frosty white crystalline fortification that inludes a neat red orb at the larger end, and a sparkly drusy patch near the inside curve. The background is a gemmy reddish gel, very translucent, as shown in the backlit photo. There are some pits and voids to be aware of in the golden moss areas, so if that's a concern, perhaps this one isn't for you. The small natural voids don't bother me a bit. The stone has a high rounded dome of 5.5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'paisley' shape, and it is polished both front and back.
