Offered here is a large cabochon of premium old stock parrot wing jasper, from Mexico. This delightful jasperized chrysocolla is becoming very difficult to find, and spendy too, unlike the more common copper complexes so often substituted for it and erroneously dubbed 'parrot wing'. This is the real deal, folks. This unique beauty has VIVID turquoise and teal blues, greens, and patches of rich reddish brown. The brightest blue areas very much remind me of the vivid waters of alpine Lake Tahoe, and they are every bit as vibrant as the photos depict, perhaps even moreso. I really enjoy cabbing this classic material for use in my own jewelry; it's beautifully colored, very solid, and there's seldom any difficulty achieving a slick, glassy shine. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, and a long designer 'spear' shape, polished both front and back.
