Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of extra fancy rhodochrosite, from Argentina. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of rough from this classic location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. This cab features various shades of vibrant hot pink coloration in an intricately banded pattern, with a good dollop of crystalline translucence. There's also some golden calcite down one side, adding extra character. The stone has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a versatile teardrop shape, and a glossy polish both front and back.
