Bloody Basin plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of top shelf Bloody Basin plume agate, collectibly gorgeous material from Arizona. I cut this beautifully busy cab without being sure what it was, and later had to ask the nice gentleman I got the rough from to ID it. Lucky for me, Terry Maple is always ready to help out. The stone is loaded with billowing red, yellow, and ochre plumes, and those toward the small end are extra fancy, including some nice details in black. There's also a couple pools of ghostly purplish blue agate. This fine example is sure to make a winning addition to your jewelry showcase, wherever it goes! The cab has a rounded dome of about 6mm, and a bold designer shape that enhances the material wonderfully. And despite a teensy pinpoint void on the front, and a small drusy pocket on the backside, it took a slick glassy polish both front and back.
