Carey plume agate ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of Carey plume agate, from Oregon. The source of this very rare material has been completely dug out long ago, and looking at the gorgeous plumage here, I can certainly see why it was collected to extinction. All that you'll find nowadays in already in the hands of collectors, who tend to cherish them above everything else, and never let go. (Heh, I'm one of them!) This cab features a small but ornate forest of dark blood red plumes in a translucent agate base. They really do look like tiny flowers, don't they? And they appear to be growing from a bed of yellowish grasses too. It's just the kind of stone to transform your next creation into a treasured heirloom! It has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
Size: 52x17mm
Weight: approximately 30 carats
