Offered here is a large cabochon of premium old stock parrot wing jasper, from Mexico. This delightful jasperized chrysocolla is becoming very difficult to find, and spendy too, unlike the more common copper complexes so often substituted for it and erroneously dubbed 'parrot wing'. This is the real deal, folks. It features a patchwork pattern of VIVID greens, blood red and orange, with a patch of turquoise too. It's every bit as vibrant as the photos depict, perhaps even moreso. I really enjoy cabbing this classic material for use in my own jewelry; it's strikingly colored, very solid, and there's seldom any difficulty achieving a smooth, glossy shine. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a graceful designer 'drop' shape, and it is nicely polished both front and back.
