Berrendo agate cab ~
Offered here is a cab of Berrendo red agate, from Mexico. This newly found agate comes in nodular form, dug close by and quite similar to the classic old Tabasco red thundereggs that everyone loves. It very much reminds me of Yellow Cat petrified wood too, as there is a strong resemblance. I love RED agate of any kind, and these eggs are great fun to cut, even when they're heartbreakingly fractured. This one also has a few (healed, I think) hairlines, but the brilliant crimson colors, gemmy translucence, crushed ice quartz center, and lovely banding were more than enough to keep it from languishing on my bench for long. I think you'll treasure it too, regardless of its imperfections. The stone has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
