Horse Canyon agate~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This highly sought after moss agate is one of my long time favorites, becoming tougher to get by the day. The area where it hails from is now private and closed, so it can no longer be collected. This example is jam packed with very ornate moss-like stringers surrounding pools of yellow and cloudy blue agate. Please click to enlarge the pics to enjoy the delightful details! The stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a strong designer 'spear' shape, and despite some slight undercutting in the reddish moss areas, it has a great glassy polish both front and back.
