Australian tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of brecciated tigereye, a very interesting material which hails from Africa. This stone has a thrilling degree of chatoyant brilliance, with strong shimmering flash in the classic golden yellow color we're all familiar with from more ordinary tigereye. I really like this brecciated material, and I'm sure you will too, as each 'piece' in the stone has its own orientation; just as one patch of chatoyance dims, another winks on as the stone is turned. It has the added gleam of darkly shiny hematite too, which you can catch only a hint of in the photos. It's a definitely a stone you'll have fun with, in whatever type of setting you can dream up. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, and a crisp designer 'diamond' shape that's polished both front and back.
