Stone Canyon jasper ~
Offered here is a designer 'flame' cabochon of Stone Canyon jasper, from California. It is fine example of brecciated stone, which means the original ochre-yellow jasper was once broken apart by some powerful earth movement, and then naturally re-cemented with contrasting milky agate with ribbons of burgundy-red fortificaton. The agate has a decent translucency in those infilled areas, for a dimension of added depth and character. The stone has a low rounded dome, a gracefully sleek shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
