parral agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Parral dendritic agate, from Mexico. It features stark black figures that stand out in sharp contrast against a backdrop of bluish-white agate. Oddly enough, the dendrites appear to have formed because of the dark gray metallic blebs within them. I find it strangely interesting that an agate should contain such drops of metal, which is typical of this material, and I would very much like to know what that metallic ore is. If anyone knows, please email me. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a gracefully long designer 'drop' shape, and a bright glassy polish both front and back.
