Bruneau jasper cab ~
Here is a freeform cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an attractive pattern of orbs in shades of creamy peach, against a burnt orange body. There's a touch of translucency present too. Sadly, the best of this hard porcelain-like jasper is becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days. It takes an outrageously glossy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is very sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a rounded dome, a gracefully fluid shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
