Moss agate cab ~
Here is a lovely cab of old stock moss agate, from Oregon. The intricate frills of the moss itself are quite beautiful, but what I like best about this stone is how the clouds of yellowish and bluish agate flow in and around the mosses. Happily, it took an excellent polish, and there is none of the usual undercutting often so typical of these agates. I do need to mention the presence of a small fracture that's visible in the photos, but it's healed and looks like part of the pattern at most angles. The cab has a high, well rounded dome of 7mm, and an elegant designer shape, polished both front and back.
