Description
~ Tiffany stone cab ~

Offered here is a cabochon of purple opalite, cut from the heart of a nodule from Utah's Brush-Wellman beryllium mine. Sometimes known as bertrandite, Tiffany stone, ice cream opal, and 'Purple Passion', no matter what you call it, it's incredibly gorgeous stuff! I'm told this rare opal gets its beautiful coloration from fluorite. This unique stone features multiple purple hues and some unusual orbs. It also fluoresces wildly, in bright greens, if you're into that UV light stuff... The rich colors in this cab would contrast nicely with either gold or silver, for an heirloom quality piece of wearable art. It has a very high rounded dome, a symmetrical almond shape, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.

Size: 29x18mm
Weight: approximately 15 carats
