Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a dazzling cabochon of rutilated quartz, from Brazil. It features water clear quartz and plenty of bright golden needles of rutile, scattered like jackstraws. This one shows very little of the typical 'fairy frost' inclusions, but oddly, there are several tiny bubbles present, seeming to float within the stone. The 'spun gold' rutile has oodles of sparkle and gleam, and I think it would look particularly gorgeous in most any open backed setting. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6.5+mm, and a brilliantly glassy 'wet ice' polish both front and back.
